2011Minimize

The Road Safety Foundation will continue to work with corporates, their employees and, as a key strategy for 2011, focus on key responsibilities of individual road users.

Each individual that puts up their hand to behave in a responsible manner on the roads, takes us one step closer to safe roads.

Let's work together to make our roads safe!

In the Spirit of Riding
Hi, Iwould like to make an appointment to see Petro as a follow up on a discussion we had last year, wherein we would like to know if we can work together. We ride motorbikes, do lots of charity work with bikers and have found that there is a need for more road safety awareness around bikers, but we as such do not have the know how and would really appreciate some assistance on this. Mnay thanks Shirley 0743205515

Heavy Container trucks using residential roads
I live in a suburb in Boksburg and over the last 6 months or so I have noticed an influx of Heavy Container trucks coming into our residential area to make use of the Bottle store and the Pizza Shop. The problem here is that they do U turns in the middle of our narrow roads which are only ment for smaller vehicles, this causes pot holes and damage to the tar. Then they park on the pavement next to the Pizza shop blocking the pavment for pedestrians, they hjave driven over the Stop sign twice already. They are also urinating in public on the corner where all can see including woman and young children who are walking to the shops. Is there a law that prevents these huge truck from entering residential areas, surley they can make us of the large petrol stations and shopping centres. What can be done to stop this and who is responsible for the repairs to the pavement where they have been parking etc. Please help or advise me where we can get help from. Thanking you in antic
